Children's Newspaper
In September 2007 we decided to set up an after school newspaper club run by one of our Learning Mentors Dina Cahill.
The club supports and challenges the most able children’s needs in terms of Literacy and Communication skills.
The children are given specific roles such as editor and designer. They are required to gather news at home and school anD use IT to create a termly school newspaper ‘for the children, by the children’.
In the past the children have interviewed staff members, Governors and visitors. They promote school events and create pages to interest their peers. They submit recipes, articles of interests, diaries from their holidays and jokes and puzzles.
