Robinsfield Infant School Reception

At Robinsfield, we plan and assess our children in the Nursery and Reception classes following the Foundation Stage Curriculum Guidance and the Foundation Stage Profile. From September 2008 we will plan from the updated Early Years Foundation Stage national document.
We plan for the six areas of learning which form the basis of the foundation stage curriculum. These areas are:

• Personal, social and emotional development
• Communication, language and literacy
• Mathematical development
• Knowledge and understanding of the world
• Physical development
• Creative development

Here you can see the opportunities we provide for our children to engage in activities planned by adults and also those that they plan or initiate themselves. We aim for our children to experience a rich and stimulating well planned learning environment.

Currently in Reception G:

Children learn best through experience and doing. In Reception class there is always lots of hands-on, practical activities to encourage children to become independent learners. Here are some photographs showing various activities taking place in a Reception class.
