Curriculum for Year 1
In Year 1 our children are taught following the National Curriculum. The Curriculum subjects are:
• English
• Maths
• Science
• Design and technology
• Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
• History
• Geography
• Art and design
• Music
• Physical education

We also are required to teach religious education, although parents have the right to withdraw children for all or part of the religious education curriculum. In addition, we teach personal, social and health education (PSHE) and citizenship.
In Year 1 we aim to develop children’s interest through planning stimulating and creative project work which is linked to other areas of the curriculum.

Currently in Year 1B
During the 'Walk to school Week' Y1B learnt all about the Green Cross Code and how we can keep ourselves safe when we cross the road. We learnt that there are 6 things you must do. 1. Think first and stop at a safe place. 2. Stop and always let cars go first. 3. Use your eyes and ears. 4. Wait until the road is clear. 5. Look and Listen. 6. Arrive Alive. We made information posters to show the rest of the school how they can keep themselves safe. Can you remember to do all of these things everytime you cross the road?
